> I just made an ivoker, i perfected the spells that you get in the first level and was looking forward to getting those more powerful spells like wall of fire. THEN! When i discovered that the wall of fire didnt do more damage than the cyclone i was disapointed, the icicle was the same way. The only spell that did decent damage was the charge weapon. Then i saw the paladin use flamestrike, he massacred (he was level 10)! How is a invoker who depend soley upon his spells suposed to survive when the spells rearly does capital damage.(exept charge weapon, wich MUTILATED and EVERESICATED).
I) You(invokers) can exploit many races elemental weaknesses(fire giant=icicle; arial=charge weapon; etc), Paladins flamestrike is only a fire attack
II)Mages are not supposed to be strong early in levels, if they were what reason would there be to play the fighting classes(warriors, rangers, thieves)?
III)As the post before said, your spells will gain strength as your knowledge increases.
IV)Wall of Fire and Cyclone are not in the same elemental skill. Perhaps it was meant for the wind attacks to be more powerful first and the fire attacks to be more powerful later?
I guess the point I think I was trying to make(before I got lost and started babbling..kinda like this.) was that no matter how bad you think something might be, believe me when I say that the imms have tested, retested, reretested, rereretested, etc... everything just so that they feel it is balanced.
Good luck with your invoker and dont let the practicing get you down.
