I've had a couple.
Draegus a d-elf tranny, a duergar shaman whi never got above rank 25 and Takallanar a d-elf shaman. I don't play cf because of the game, the game is only the backdrop and props in an ongoing play/story whatever.. I play because of the interaction with other people, to me the fun of a cabal is a group of like minded characters striving and working together for a common goal, "working together" being the two key words here. With the Empire pushing sect independance a lot more recently Empire becomes something like 4 cabals with the same goal but at the same time are almost enemies of each other. This leads to (at least in my experience) an Imperial leading a rather solitary life which in turn leads to boredom which then leads to *delete* *delete*. This is also why I could never play a scarab, it's too much like you're playing the game on your own.
Others may and probably do get a different impression from the cabal but this is just my...
