1. If you choose two-handed weapons, you don't lose the ability to use a shield and a one handed weapon (or even a two handed weapon if you're a giant) and benefit from shield block and shield bash. However, you only get to use your nifty two-handed specs when you unwield the shield + you are using a two-handed weapon.

2. As above, you need a pure two-handed weapon for the specs to work.
