Most of the following is gathered from previous posts by sources I have found reliable. Still, take it with a grain of salt.

When enhanced damage is perfected, it doubles the weapon's base damage on hits. Damroll is not doubled. (No, I'm not exactly sure what happens when it's not perfected. Don't think about that, and go perfect it.)

So a warrior with a jewelled broadsword (ave 20) and a 30 damroll will average (2*20)+30 = 70 damage per hit. (Not 100.)

I'm not sure at what point vulns and resists come in, or exactly how much they modify the damage, but it's quite a bit.

If your level is at least that of your weapon, you do full damage with that. If your level is lower, you do less than full. How much less, I have no idea.

Hitroll is largely irrelevant for "normal" swings at the higher ranks, but seems to affect certain "special" moves a bit. I've tested pugil, after seeing a hint about that on the Forum, and saw a difference that I would call significant.

What this means is that if you have enhanced damage, an ave 20 weapon with no modifiers is better than ave 15 with +5 to damage. (Final: 40 vs. 35)

If you want another answer, try taking a peek at stock ROM. CF is very heavily modified, however, so even that isn't gospel.
