How do we stop this phenomenon?:

The CF playerbase is one of amazing egos. Everybody believes that they're Bobby Badass, regardless of how often they get beat.

This problem is magnified ten-fold when you get two cabals that hate each other. What inevitably ends up happening is this...

I log on, and I see one rager. Terrific. I play the game for 2 or 3 hours, maybe kill that rager, and just when I'm getting ready to log off another rager logs on. Well, now I'm stuck in a catch-22. I can stay on, thereby ignoring my real life committments or I can log off and get called a coward by the morons.

Now, this probably shouldn't bother me. I mean, afterall, none of us are all that great considering that we're sitting in front of a computer instead of out getting drunk, walking in the sun, or having sex...but it's human nature to want to be liked, to be respected and so on.

It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't brought to the forum, but it is, and if anything it's passive-aggressive character assassination and it should stop. Now I know, the imms know, and people that play with me know, that the people pointing the finger are off-base. The problem is the people of this forum take everything written at face value and believe what they read.

So what needs to happen? First, people need to tweak their egos. If somebody logs off it's probably more likely that it has NOTHING to do with you. Second, people need to not use the forum to bring unfounded garbage like that up. Third, the VIPS seriously need to delete any post that even hints at this. and Fourth, I need to learn not to care.
