I think things would get much easier for the playerbase if we all did this:
Rolled up empowered chars ONLY for those Imms that are either vis often or make their presence known. (Zulg, Astein, Nepenthe, ect.)
Ignore the ones who don't.
After a month or so, the ones who don't vis will notice noone follows their religion anymore. They'll do one of two things.
If they care about their religion, and actually want followers, they'll make it known they are available, either vis or do something else.
Not care and let the religion die which is better for all concerned, anyways.
The problem with empowerment isn't the waiting, it isn't being patient. It's knowing that you may well be wasting your time since you get ZERO feedback and have no idea if anyone on the other end is listening. That's what STILL drive me crazy about it, even though I've had reasonable sucess so far.
It's not mostly about the quality of your RP, it's being lucky enough, or knowledgable enough, to pray at the right time.
If I were you, I'd just go with an IMM that is vis alot, for my first empowerment char.
