I'm not sure hoarding money is a precisely Sylvan thing to do, regardless. Certainly putting it away in a bank (completely aside from the fact that you would have to enter a city to deposit and withdraw the money) supports the economy of a civilization and indirectly contributes to the subjugation of the wilds. Also, greed is sort of an anti-Sylvan kind of sentiment and hoarding up gold might be construed as greed. There is no way that I know of to store gold off-body other than banks, though, anyway.
