....I think you place the CF chat room in the wrong light. Though it is easy to cheat there, it is also easy to cheat through many other mediums. You mentioned that 'maturity sits in the corner and weeps' but to be honest, I do not play CF for maturity. It is a game. Shocking as that may be, games are diversions from life, entertainment, not life itself. Do not take requests for minor information as a lack of maturity, instead view it as a lack of experience. The Morals of any society are dictated by a few, and often times it may take awhile for a person new to that society to learn them all. Sometimes those rules must even be bent to allow that person to grow. Do not doubt for a minute that CF is a society, and some of its newest citizens, and even veterens, need a little help from time to time. If a person is having a very hard time with the game, and a simple quest such as the travellers boots would allow them to enjoy it more and become more capable, I would gladly tell them. That is not cheating, no matter how you may phrase it. It is a helping hand to someone who is inexperienced and is playing one of the if not the most sophisticated online game available. If you are grouped with someone who knows how to get the woven bracers, and you learn of it by their experience, that is also cheating, according to the rules. Again, I tend not to look at it that way, as many of the quests are so ambiguous, as to be nerely unsolvable. Most game information is not learned first hand, but second hand by observing those who already have such knowledge. Do I ask for the answers to a quest when I am alone. no. That is a choice I make to allow for a more enjoyable game. I was however perplexed by a particular item, which I was told was common, but I could not locate, after a few weeks, I located someone that at least gave me a clue to tis whereabouts. Technically cheating. The item in question is level 5, and is not the end all be all of the game. The person gracious enough to give me the information did not cheat, or ruin the game, they helped someone with a problem. Refering to the example taht CF is a society, try and be patient with people, and dont judge a format of interaction such as the IRC, or ICQ before you have experienced it for yourself. You may find, as I have, that it is not a haven for cheaters and immature malcontents, but instead, another facet of the society that cf has become, where players can vent frustrations, share ideas, be themselves, and share in the comradery of something they all enjoy.
