My bad (text, mostly irrelevant since Morgath is long gone):

I forgot all about Morgath. Mostly before my time, but there would be some truth to that.

I want to try to give the man the benefit of the doubt (since he's not around, AFAIK, to defend himself) and say that, in general, he was the kind of guy who believed above all a mud administrator should be liked by all the players.

That doesn't really sound that bad, until you consider that it means that he would put being generally liked above things like whether the game was fair. If he thought giving you his tattoo would make you think he was a cool guy, he'd probably do it regardless of whether or not you came anywhere close to fitting his religion -- thus making it that much less cool for anyone who belonged there. If he thought handing someone he thought was cool an average 50 weapon would make the game more fun for them, why, then that's just what he'd do (never mind what that meant for anyone else). If you were pissed because you mobdied or lost your gear, you could count on him to fix it for you if he thought it might make you think of him in a better light (never mind that, uh, where's any challenge or "danger" in the game now?)

I'm not going to say this philosophy is wrong, but it's definitely not ours. I want to believe that Morgath's legendarily (ahem) unusual behavior towards mud-women was a natural outgrowth of that differing philosophy and not just a natural outgrowth of the man's (um) hormones.

'course, he's been gone for over five years, either way.
