I am curious, Amblemourne, as to what purpose the CF e-group thing is intended to serve that is not covered already? I clicked out of curiosity, but balked at an e-mail verified registration.
I mean, people already use IRC to cheat at various levels (yes, I've witnessed firsthand, and been offered perks firsthand). ICQ is used to organize groups and share information (also, yes), there are and have been less publicized CF sites for groups of collaborators, and on the lighter side of OOC CF we have Glimo's, now defunct, Dioxide's for items/information/forum/links, Snarf and company's for files and technical things, Lynx for pictures of our ugly gaming asses, and even one or two other sites for fan-zine style offerings of an artistic CF nature.
What's left? And why? Why the fuck does everyone keep pushing out more and more? I mean, us lowly sycophants are one thing... addiction blended with the desire to stay competitive by keeping up on what info. is being given out freely... but what's the motivation behind creating yet one more page? It's not like it helps the game. Hell, I think everyone agrees the game was more fun three years ago when there was less OOC recognition of the mud.
