Despite all the crappy Lovecraftian wanna-be rip-offs of the "Necronomicon" you find floating around out there (the absolute worst being one edited by "Simon"), I was surprised to find a version written in Serbo-Croatian (or some form of it) and Arabic in the Rare Book Room of the university I attended. I photocopied as much of it as I could afford and was only able to find one guy in the whole Foreign Languages department that had any idea what it said. He translated a couple pages before disappearing (nothing mysterious, he left the country -- though I suppose you could suggest he was compelled to leave for his own safety!) and I never found anyone else that could touch it.

It's fun to think it might be real.
