I'm trying to understand why. If my duergar holds a polearm and is fighting an assassin that kote's and kinset's me, that's what...-10 str -10 dex total? That's a lot of +str stuff I'd have to wear to offset that. OR I could just use my hands which I can parry with, weaken with,knock you out with, and crushing blow you <--(I know that doesn't sound good but you get my drift). Plus I can latch on a shield and use shield block and there are plenty of held items that will make me hit harder, improve armor, etc. If I chose mace or sword as a second spec I will have nice offense so long as I'm not sufficiently weaken and can hold my weapons. Shamans can really ruin your day in terms of strength. I would like to hear some more opinions on this matter backed up with examples and logic if possible. And before anyone asks I did a forum search but wasn't satified with what I found. Thanks
