(I'm not going to address the part of your post regarding cheating... some people lack the skill/patience/backbone to go it alone, and earn a quality character. I get a good chuckle when they get denied.) > Also Repeat killers who think that what they do falls on blind eye's and deaf ears. Do rember That this is a game, and tho the Immortals might Inteed for you to stick heavily to Role playing, Game rules and Ethics do come first over your Role Play. I agree, but our concept of rules is different. I do not knowingly violate the rules of CF. They're very clear. Within the game, it is legal for me to multi-kill an enemy, if it is within my role to do so. There is nothing unethical about it. I usually take time to converse with people who I've fought (win or lose), and do what I can to explain my reasons. I don't roll up characters for PKing, but many roles within Thera call for the occasional inter-player violence. It's part of the game. What you are advocating is actually very bad roleplaying for many characters. If a Maran paladin strikes down some anti-paladin, and the anti-paladin shows no remorse afterwards for his actions, that Maran should be unempowered if he sees that anti-paladin in some dark corner of Thera and doesn't make an attempt to beat that last bit of life out of him. If an Imperial Blade "goes easy" on a fallen foe who refuses the BloodOath, they should be Anathema on the spot. Now, if you are playing a Dawnie, multi-killing is not a priority at all. Ditto for a warrior of the Ehren Guard (at least, not until they have a chance to grab some gear and make it a reasonable fight). Some roles just don't call for it. But some do. > To avoid getting denied by Immortals try and follow two simple rules, dont player kill people who just died, especialy those you know have just unghosted Or you yourself have just killed. Now you are talking out of your ass. Again, look to the Maran/Blade examples above. My last character was a Cultist. If I multi-killed some Selric paladin, Cyradia might bring me a tasty glass of red wine, but she certainly wouldn't have denied me. > So far There are a couple names appearing over and over. I've thought about mentioning them But that might cause a upset. Again, I disagree. You should mention it if you think it's a rules violation. But you should mention it privately to an IMM, in the game. The Forum is not the proper mechanism for enforcing rules. If you bring it here, it will be deleted for character assassination. > On a Side Note: Umm... what is that hero doing holding an orcish sword and torch after the unghost period? There are plenty of ways to grab some half-way reasonable gear before unghost wears off at any level above about 20 or so. Also, Thera is very big. When I don't want to be found, there are plenty of places to run, and teleport potions are cheap. If someone is able to multi-kill you, it is because you are making yourself available to be multi-killed. Don't stand around obvious areas. Be as invis/hidden/camoed as you can be. Don't re-equip in the most obvious places. If Ragers are chasing you, head to one of the many places that you can't walk to, or at least it is very inconvenient to walk to. There is a very small subset of ways for someone to track you anywhere in Thera: be wary of air majors, and nightgaunts. Healers can find you almost anywhere as well, but if you are getting multi-killed by a lone healer, you have other problems. That being said, I think the unghost period should be made a little longer. > The claim of he is evil, he is good, he is in this cabal or that. It is not a excuse to repeat kill people. Sure it can be. It can be good roleplaying. It can also be some idiotbashing everything that enters his PK range. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. > Long ago when you had to die five times before loseing a con point repeat killing had little affect. Now with three deaths per con point. A whole character can be ruined after 10 deaths. Hold a bit of Consideration for others. Cf has never been a easy place to learn to mud, Do remeber It is a game, and rember that You play here as others do, to have fun. Of course. However, games have winners and losers. Not everyone does or should make hero. Not everyone gets to hold on to that nifty sword. Some people con-die. This uncertainty of success is one of the great things about CF! Roleplaying skill is largely uncorrelated with killing skill. There are people who can do one or the other, both or neither. Just because someone whoops your ass, doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing as far as roleplaying. > Dont be the mean bastard of Carrionfields wrecking it for all the new up and coming players. Should we get rid of anti-paladins? Empire? Ragers? Thera is a mean place. Not everyone likes to play mean roles, which is why there are many options which are not geared towards violence. > play CF for fun. Yes. > Abide by the rules to play CF Yes. > Hold consideration for other players. If I do the other three things you've asked, I've done enough. > Role Play to add to the fun of Cf Yes. > Follow that order and everyone will have alot more fun playing cf, You shouldnt get Denied, The Immortals will be able to spend their time doing more important things instead of enforceing rules. The mud will progress into something Greater. Zorszaul kills an awful lot of people. Do you think he'll get denied any time soon? I don't. There's a difference between the stock SMUG eastern-road-sitting-no-role-duergar, and a finely crafted villain like Zorszaul. Don't confuse the two. -PB
> Do rember there are people who play the characters you are killing. They do not like dying once or even twice, Pay attention to your Pk when you see a player drop off it, check out to see if they died or left the realms. If they died try and give them a go before you attack them. Look at them before killing them, when you see a hero who is holding a torch for a light and a orcish sword as a weapon, You should let them go.
