I'm actually a bigger fan of areas that are based on Theran lore, rather than any book. I remember being disappointed when I first encountered Mirkwood. It's a fun area, but I just thought less of it because it was an adaptation of an existing work, rather than something wholly new.

A big problem with adapting works from other sources is that Thera ends up looking rather patchwork... there's hobbits over here, Whitecloaks over there, Cthulthu under there, Salvatore over there, etc. Gimme Hamsah Mu'Tazz over Arkham any day of the week.
