I played an axe-wielding arial warrior a couple years ago (before specs). There are a few light axes out there, but yes you will be limiting yourself.

I say go for it - I am currently dabbling with a human warrior that uses no weapons (1% skills in all weapons except for one which is at 40%), and he is doing ok so far.
