I know it used to be pretty easy. It was then changed and made a lot harder. Maybe six months ago, I had a teen-rank necro that I dabbled with very briefly, and I distinctly recall weakening some arial shaman's diamond pickaxe off after I'd slept them, and then stealing it out of their inventory. It took about 1.5 ticks to get a success.

Maybe it's since been changed further... I honestly don't know. If so, the above still applies, it's just got a little more room for error.
