A role is something that can be changed (in some ways) while you play the game. Your role is exactly that... YOUR ROLE. There are certain limitations.. Like playing an evil grumpy Paladin that goes around Galadon killing every goodie he sees.. It just won't happen. Try to make your role 'realistic.'

I've learned a couple of ways over the last six (6) years to make my CF experience a more enjoyable one... Here are a few:

Step 1: Ask yourself.. Do I want to be a warrrior-type or a mage-type character?

Step 2: If you pick a mage-type, will it need to be empowered? [I don't suggest this until you know what you're doing]

Step 3: Go to the Carrion Fields website and use the side menuBar to navigate your way around, looking at the different classes.

*** You've now narrowed down your choice of what class you want to play to at least 1-3 classes. ***

Step 4: Pick one.

Step 5: Try playing it as Human at first, because they advance quickly and don't have any advantages/disadvantages.

*** Now is where we get to the actual ROLE ***

Last Step: Make up a role! Despite what many people think, your character does not have to be a quirky handicapped kinda guy. Pick something you'd like and run with it.

Suggestion: You can also look through the skill pages on this page, because Dio has all of the spells/skills listed.. unlike CF's page.

Example: If you want to play an Invoker... You will notice that they get A LOT of spells and that they will take A LOT of time mastering those skills. Your role should then be something like.. 'He is a very studious man, always taking his time learning everything he can about his new abilities.' (perhaps choose the sphere of Knowledge, too.)

As always you can post your idea for a role on the CHAR BOARD. I personally would suggest that you don't post it under the name that you will be using in the Fields. Just replace it with *** or something.
