A bash that you land lags you 2 rounds. It lags your foe between 1 and 3 rounds... possibly 4 in some cases... though I don't really recall seeing that except with Aridhol mobs. If it lags them less than 2 rounds, they can flee/wimpy while you are still lagged. If it lags them more than 2 rounds, they don't get any commands through prior to your next bash. If it lags them for exactly 2 rounds, they get one command, and one command only. If they were spamming a direction when you attacked them or something, they're screwed, but otherwise they can flee. (As an aside, this is how trip works--2/2 ratio.) As I'm sure you've noticed, if you miss a bash entirely, it lags you 3 rounds, and them none (obviously).
