In Reply to: What's CF's ip#? Zmud can't find one for carrionfields.org 9999 (n/t) posted by Question on July 12, 2000 at 08:24:06:

If you're using Windows, which I am assure you are, there is a very easy way to find out the IP address.

Merely go to START -> RUN and in the run box type...

ping carrionfields.org

It will say 'Pinging carrionfields.org [IP ADDRESS HERE]...'

There ya go, in case you find that that IP address isn't connecting for an extended period of time, perhaps it has changed. That's the whole point of having a domain name of 'carrionfields.org' so that the user does not have to constantly switch their phone books to a new IP address.

You should try to connect to carrionfields.org 9999 again when you finally connect using the IP address. It's possible that you just tried to connect at a bad time.

That, or your ISP is like 'SpeedyNet' in Wisconsin and their DNS tables got all screwed up.
