They should have a survivor-type voting system in place. I've seen this in a couple of military schools as well, i.e., Once a month (or whatever) sects rank their members in order of usefulness. The one with the most last-place votes get the big A.

For instance, blade has 20 members. Each blade ranks his sect members, from 1 to 20. The poor sap with the most '20's gets the big fat booth. This would make for a bit more political maneuvering, back stabbing, and everything else that makes life fun.
