> You know, despite the stories of "BLATANT cheating" and the like, I find it amazing that no one is willing to come forward to report it. One of two things inevitably happens any time some report of cheating reaches my mailbox: (1) either the evidence is non-existant, vague to the point of being ridulous or just downright wrong; (2) the player reporting it pulls a Graatch refuses to cooperate and fix the reported problem.

> Actually, speaking of my mailbox, I've got mixed emotions about the irony involved in having Challen quit the game because of disillusionment around the imm staff not holding some higher moral ground. Certainly we're all guilty of hypocrisy from time to time, I guess. (And since the Net is cruel, I should point out that I say that only as a casual observation, not as a flame.)

Your selective memory is disturbing and your unabashed attempt at writing off your own misconduct as well as that of some of your fellow imms is galling even to my jaded self. Can it be you have already forgotten your little witch hunt of two months ago? You and Guerric come to irc, act in as childish and unprofessional a manner as one could possibly imagine, accuse me of all sorts of cheating, only to learn that what I had told to guerric, the I knew he played ******, I had learned from another player, not an immortal. Did you have the decency to apologize? No, instead you vowed to ruin every subsequent character of mine, which of course you have.
And why don't I put forth evidence? Because unlike you, I generally dont have *access* to all the evidence. I can't get all the imm logs. But I am aware of your lies, Mr. Smith. I am aware, now, because there are a few other imms who are sickened by your complete hypocrisy. I am aware of your false entries into histories. And I am aware you are not alone in this. But I am also aware that I do not know the whole of it, and that putting forth what little evidence I can accumulate will shift the focus from the true problem -- your misdeeds -- and put it instead on my learning of it, as though *that* were the true problem. No, the true problem is your and others doing the wrong thing. I am not going to jeopardize them, I will not sacrifice them on the altar of your lack of integrity. There are no whistleblower protections in the petty world of Mr. Smith's Neighborhood. Unfortunately, the reprisals against them and other imms would overshadow the corrective measures needing to be taken.
But your day will come. Trust me.
