> In case you hadn't noticed, ragers DID get purged. That's the reason they don't hold much power right now. They're trying to get back on their feet. As soon as Magtograme was made leader, I logged on my applicants that I had on hold, one of which had been in the application process Through Dhaevor, Rezkirat, and Minalcar, but never got a final interview due to extremely bad luck many many times (ie battle getting raided three times in a row approximately 20 seconds after beginning the interview with Dhaevor, then he never had time to talk, then deleted; then the same thing happening with Rezkirat til he got booted; then Minalcar never having time to speak to me, then the whole thing with his betrayal, and no leader for a LONG time). I put them on hold because I felt it was pointless trying to get inducted with no leader, and not very likely to happen, so I started a mage, and heroed him before Mag took over. Which brings me to the reason why I didn't continue playing them once they got inducted. I had a hero which was currently involved in alot of interesting things, and didn't want to take time out from that to spend 34 hours of doing nothing but dying retaking the head from the tower everytime Phabien raided every 45 seconds. It's incredibly hard to get ahead when you're a rank 22 assassin against an army of people who know you don't use magic, and you're forced to wade right into them to take back what's yours. I actually amazed myself at how many times I actually was successful given the odds. It was certainly something I've never been able to do with my other ragers, but I was still dying far more than what it was worth when I already had a major character to play out. Actually, those two chars should be autodeleting sometime soon, if they haven't already. I did, however, spend enough time playing them to know that those who Magtograme inducted were worthy of being ragers, in that they fought with courage and honor, even against outstanding odds. As stated, it wasn't always a favorable outcome for them, but they did what was required of a rager, and did it without question. I also fought Magtograme a number of times with my hero, and know from that, that he fought with courage and honor. As for Aneidra, I fought along side her once before she was inducted, so I know very little of her and those she's inducted. I also deal very little with ragers now, because one of my mages is a hero and there basically are no hero ragers yet that I know of, and playing ragers before, I make sure that my lowbie mages are smart enough to avoid the ragers, so I never really have to deal with them. Whenever I'm through playing mages and chars for other cabals, I might go back to ragers, but until then, I'm not the best judge of the current ragers. I do, however, take a look at this post and get a very strong impression that it's the same old gripe that has been brought up and bitched about since I started playing cf two years ago, and it even says the exact same things. From past experience, I've learned that most often posts like this are due largely to someone playing a mage/mage lover (grouping with magi, using magical items, etc...) who had a group of ragers walk into the room, and the mage/mage lover got one or two rounded by a single rager, and jumped to the conclusion that it was a gang-bang, based solely on the fact that it was such a quick fight. If this is not the case, then don't apply it to yourself. I do know that this has been the case many times, as I was in a full group who go annihilated by a single rager, even though his whole group showed up to watch and loot. I then sat there and listened to a bunch of OOC whining by my group that ragers are overpowerred, gang-banging mindless pk'ers who have no real use in the game (which, needless to say, thoroughly pissed me off and resulted in me taking some very evil action on my group). This wasn't the only time that situation came up, either. I can honestly say my group usually tended to be thoroughly pissed at me when I was the only surviver because the instant our would-be killers show up, I teleported leaving my group (who all had similar means of escape) to be mercilessly slaughtered. The another situation that causes such accusations are when you're with a group of three, and a group of three ragers walks in, and kills your whole group, each rager taking a different group member. This isn't gang-banging. This is STILL one on one combat. Most often it's actually one rager on three, and the other two ragers each taking someone differnent than the first rager is aiming at. So long as all three ragers are aiming at someone different, it's perfectly fair. If the whole group of victims is assisting and ends up all swinging at the frist rager to attack instead of their own individule attackers, that's their fault, not the ragers'. Occassionally, there are also accidents which are sometimes unavoidable. A good example is some poor sucker who decides to go say hi to a group of ragers who are ranking, only to find out that they are all thirsting and the sucker dies before the ragers even realised they were attacking someone new. It also happens that two ragers aren't aware they are hunting the same person, and end up striking at the same time. Typically, in this case, one or both ragers ends up fleeing (assuming the victim lives that long), and they try to sort out who's kill it is while the victim (if he lived) gladly takes the time to get away FAST (assuming he's not retarded). If any of these situations sound remotely like what you've just experienced to make you decide to post this, then I suggest you pay a little more attention to small details and try not to bias your opinion by the incessant whining of others. If none of these apply (and I suggest you go back and examine the fights closely if you logged them), then please do not take offense to my post, and show some supporting evidence, as was already stated by someone else. Although I tend to speak rather matter-of-factly sometimes, this isn't intended to be a flame or a rant, so please don't take it that way. Merely, stating my experience.
