In Reply to: Pk range. Id like to see lots of flames and reply's, Especially from Immortals. posted by Mofo MAN on July 19, 2000 at 08:06:22:
Many thanks for your input, I can see some of the reasons that Immortal put forward to be reasonable, but i can also see other points that are extremly valid. You said that arial and felar were worse off that a cloud giant. I honestly doubt this. Yes I agree with your Point of them getting a benifit from resist weapons ,size, fly. BUT I totaly disagree with you about stats. I take a look at fire giants and see alot more to offer than a cloud giant, a single major vuln(mental isnt often a worry), easily over come by lots of items that are often in. Their stats are better, more con whoo. anyway.. ******************************************* I was hopeing for a comment on the pk level range reduced to 5 levels. Or the tweaking of xp costs to mages.
The vuln plague is Incredibly more deadly than any other vuln on the mud. Ten ticks and your basically dead (without periapt).
As for vulns, Felars and arials can both wear hides, and use pills, items to reduce drown damage. Cloud giants cannot remove the vuln holy of negative anywhere as easily.
16 int Is a major problem, Exp pens were way before stat reliance. Also back during the change of cloud giants, holy and negative weapons were never so abundant.
The main problem I see is that as mentioned above Times have changed and Bonuses which were bonuses back then are no longer bonuses now. Many are so easily overcome.
The main dispute i was haveing was the level advantage that skills and spells had.
A warrior with 100% skills at level 30 can take out a warrior at level 39 with 100% skills.
Yet a mage who is level 39, can cake walk through anyone at level 30. All because they get a massive save vs spell bonus.
