There aren't any helpfiles to explain things like:

checking donations.
checking what items are in the altar.
checking who is bloodoathed/anathema.
checking where the codex is.

And Empire is the only cabal that would hold it against you if you ask these questions (it takes a couple of keys to anathematize someone). That's just one of the things that suck about playing an Imperial, and I think you're right to come here and ask. Another option is to pray to an Imperial Immortal, or just ask someone that isn't able to Anathematize you.
