As players, they're skilled.
As roleplayers, they've added to the CF environment for their presence with various characters (ie. they're skilled).

The harsh reaction to them on the forum stems mainly from Arolin's "inflamatory" remarks on the forum (if CF forum posts can be called "inflamatory"). Arolin has said at various points things like:

"The only point to RPing is to get more power to PK" (*gasps in terror at the thought*).

blah blah, I don't feel like rehashing.

The point is (I suspect), Arolin (no offense, Arolin) hates that he loves the game so much. He hates that he can not get away from it. So he reacts by insulting the Immortals, calling the players losers without a life, blah blah blah, and this just causes more negative feedback from the Immortals, who would like a little appreciation, if not respect and strict adherence to the rules.

Which is understandable. For example, I'm an artist. Sometimes I show my paintings. Someone comes and blasts them and tells me I'm wasting my time and I suck, but KEEPS ON COMING BACK to look at them, eventually I'm going to say,

"Well get the hell out of here, then, you prick before I kick your ass."

Personally, I like playing with SMUG (Well, against more often than with), and I hope that Arolin takes from Zharradam's example, admits he likes playing, and stops intentionally flaunting disrespect to the Imms and the rules, and they come back.
