Hey,.. just sharing what I've learned over the years. If I'm wrong, someone correct me. Thanks in advance. Here goes. Yes stats effect your spells, definitely. A fire giant with 24 god-like int (I know it's impossible, but if it were) would still cast horribly compared to a drow. Elves are known to be good spell casters, but not that well off health wise. I've played Necromancers and Anti-Paladins, both have sleep. My race of choice is Drow.. whether it be nec/ap/assassin, whatever. But I experimented a bit.. tried human, etc etc.. I happen to think that a Drow AP did fairly well with sleep, in comparison to a human necromancer. A drow necro blows away a drow AP.. but Humans, although they have 23 int as nec, still aren't as good as a drow with 24 int.. and its not just that extra point of int. Although, a human is much more healthy.. what good is a sleep spell if you're dead in one round and can't flee if you fail? Hope I gave ya some things to consider.
