If you don't spec in whip, it can only be worn in your primary. If you are say a mace spec, and you are wearing a whip for some reason, you would be wielding the mace offhand, and whip primary. You wouldn't be able to use the specs for mace, since it has to be in the primary hand. However, when you spec in whip (I'm repeating myself here..) you can wield the whip in your offhand, and STILL use its spec skills. > Hope some of this cleared up what was going on.. > -TSM
