Disclaimer: I've never played a conjurer, this is just a logical guess. Pass Door makes you Translucent, allowing you to pass through closed doors and such. Phase Door allows you to move in a specific direction and 'step back in relatively nearby'... Now, my guess is.. Obviously pass door makes you translucent and you can go through doors and such.. but with phase door, you can cast the spell and pick west or east, let's say if you were on the Eastern Road, and perhaps you would take a few steps instead of just one.. That's what I gain from the 'relatively nearby'.. > At level 20 Conjurers get pass door, allowing them to pass through closed doors... at level 28 they get phase door, allowing them to pass through closed doors. > Any insight would be greatly appreciated. > HELP FILES - > PASS DOOR > PHASE DOOR
The help files subtly tell you this...
> Pass door enables the caster to pass through closed doors. Transmuters
> may cast this spell on others, while other classes are restricted to
> only casting it upon themselves.
> This spell allows the caster to temporarily step "out" of the Prime Material
> Plane and step back in relatively nearby. The direction of the step is
> chosen when the spell is cast.
