I had just not considered Dawn Conjurors as something i had to be aware of before that. Once I realized I did, my mobility was severely hampered after. Stay in the Palace get summoned. Leave the Palace get gaunted. Never figured out the other spots to avoid gaunts the i could go (kinda limited as a duergar.) After Dawn attacking was explained to me (I have a log of a conversation with Iracundar I'll post if anyone is interested), I accepted it.
