Brief is good if you want to PK. I'd say it's a separation between dangerous PKers and stumbling PKers (in general). When you first type the words "brief" you've entered the realm of PKerdom. Trying to PK and track someone with brief off is like trying to PK someone named "Daerisheamas" without a client. (for example, if you look at Shad's logs, most of the combat is iniated by Leirya, who is obviously the hunter in all of them, even if he loses.)

Verbose is good for when you're first exploring an area (obviously). Trying to figure out a place like Talshidar or Hell or.. wherever with brief on is like.. well, trying to PK someone named "daerisheamas" without a client.
