Just a few of the older ones

Any Sworeds and Sorcery by Fritz Leiber (Mouser is a wonderful thief and Fafhrd a great barbarian)

Paul Edwin Zimmer's Dark Border (excellent intrigue)

A bit of Mallory or Tennyson for that "Arthurian feel"

Take a stroll through the French and German "fairy tales" of pre 19th and 20th-Centuries. Many of the works cited here have their foundations in such works.

It's a bit difficult being at work, surrounded by mounds of work to remember all that I enjoy...but take a chance on new authors also...surprises await you.
