I think at the higher levels it is a good option to have. Usually, for an assassin, a fight will go one of two ways... 1) caltraps, kotegaeshi, kansetsuwaza (maybe not in that order, but kotegaeshi shouldn't be last).. OR 2) caltraps, tiger claw...tiger claw...tiger claw. In the instance of using tiger claw to prevent spellcasting and the like, nerve is kind of useless because if you get into using nerve you will open up an avenue for them to cast a spell on you. But, when you're fighting a physical Theran, you should be using the first route... caltraps, kotegaeshi and kansetsuwaza. All in all that will somewhat paralyze your opponent. With all the +str +dex gear out there, though, it may not still be enough to kill them. You'd be surprised, nerve would make a big difference in this situation.. even instead of using a damage-dealing high-level kick or something. Besides, hitting the kidneys is kind of useful... (dramatic pause)... > At least in PK.
