1)Gambling paladins: Let's define gambling, shall we? gam·ble (gamble) 1. to play a game for money Now, if a paladin has a large sum of money, I don't think it's very paladiny to run off to the casino to blow it. If that logic is unclear, do some research on paladin, charity, and similar topics. Were you gambling so you could make more money? Were you trying to win a big shiney prize? If I had come across a sum of money so huge as a paladin, I'd have found a mob or organization that fit into my roleplay and roleplayed up a storm donating it. I also would have added this to my role, since running across 47 million coins is probably a once in a lifetime occurance. Somehow, gambling just doesn't have the same ring, does it? 2) Role command. You've done all of this whining completly anonymously so that no one knows your situation or your mysterious previous character who used the role command too much. I don't know who your big brother buddy immortal is, but this information is hokey at best. 2.5 As in a previous post I think that one of my past characters were the influencing factor for the implimentation of the ability Role. The role command was in design for a very very long time. I assure you we didn't look down and see one character and design a command for you. I'm not going to bother here. Nepenthe already explained that paladins are the most narrowly defined class and you're tromping around breaking all kinds of paladin code with the assumption any immortal would sit down and roleplay out with you the reasons. You got caught. You got burned. They're not even fatal burns...suck it up and work it out in character. > If you wanna see my role, why dont you rp with me IG. You haven't made that very easy to do, have you Mr. Pissed? > Or your just another whinner bitching. Are you?
v. gam·bled, gam·bling, gam·bles.
v. intr.
2. to take risks in the hope of getting better results
If you think that the role is only used for extreme cases like sphere deception and characters wishing to switch alignments, that is very unfortunate. If you can't find a healthy medium between a 100 page role documenting what you ate each day, who you grouped with, and what you were wearing AND not using a role...well, I'll bite my tongue, but that's bad. I think breaking paladin code is a sure fire example of something that is worthy of the role command. On a side note, if it was in your rp to gamble away a fortune, I'd say that was role-worthy also.
Did it every occur to you that it might not be within the immortal's rp to sit down and have a warm fuzzy chat with you about your bracelets? See Scarabaeus's wonderful biblical example for more detail. Maybe seeing you in them engraged him and he pushed the button never to look back. That being said, I'd still bet your 47 million gold coins that said immortal read every word of your role before they pushed the button.
3. Stereotyping classes:
