I'm still fairly new to CF. I've been playing for about 2 years maybe. I use to travel with Thror. Between my two characters I've played about 1200 hours. 1 to 2 hours everyday average but because of job it usually goes I don't play for 2-3 days and play for 10 hours straight.

Nope I haven't played any of them. I don't think they could replace what CF means to me.

I don't think they will be able to compete, however they will survive because Muds aren't mass marketed like visual computer games. I do think though that they will continue to attack new players.

I don't know it's a hobby for me. However time will tell.

If I had that money sure. Why not play cf for a year or two then move on to other things.

After my first character ever died after about 570 hours I actually felt an emptiness inside. Which was very strange like I lost somebody close. Anyways I stopped playing for about 3 months.

I know my friend has made on line games a career. He goes and finds items of rare value and sells them on line. Makes enough to pay the rent and buy food.
