> It seems that certain race/class combos are unduly penalized, in terms os xp penalty. For example, a wood elf ranger, in essence, pays for quiet movement and dark vision twice. That's alwyas struck me as odd. So maybe a slight change would be in order. For example, the wood elf ranger still has his usual xp penaly (600 I think) but instead of actually getting quiet movement and dark vision the second time around, the ranger would either get another skill or antoher skill would be avaialbe earlier on. In the first instance, the ranger would get some utility skill of little import per se but with the possiblity to add to that players rp, speciafiaclly in the context of race. Ourt elven frind would get, say, natural/herb lore at lvl 10. Natural/herb lore would work as plain ol' lore but the wood elf would only be able to identify/lore items that are indeed herbal in nautre. Think of the mushrooms east of Galadon etc. And, this skill could also start at 100% as per the bard --remember, it's a wood elf :) The other alternative would be to move a higher lvl skill to a lower lvl. For example, our wood elf friend could find water at lvl 10 instead of 19 (I think it's 19).

> This could be done with any race/class combo where a skill is paid for twice. Any thoughts on this?
