At least, that's what you're suggesting.
The way I've always thought of it was that in a situation like the following, the "*chuckle*" just indicated that I was (on one of your "audio" channels) chuckling while I said it. On one of the telepathic channels, if the person can actually fine-tune their mind enough to pick up exact thoughts, I have no problems believing they could pick up on the general attitude of the person (*nod* = agreement, *chuckle* = amusement, etc). Just view it as picking up on subtle clues (clues such as the fact that he's chuckling loudly).
Daishan tells you 'He picked up the burning log and died AGAIN!'
You tell Daishan '*chuckle* Must be a village applicant.'
Daishan tells you '*nod* My thought exactly.'
I'm not saying I use them or not (sometimes I do... I try not to for other reasons), but I have absolutely no problem with others doing it.
I have a much bigger problem with people emoting things my character would rip their arms off for, if he could.
