> Attitude I couldn't say enough about. Those of you who go back far enough to remember Gareth (and please, no anti-Gareth threads starting), that guy was all attitude. He could have 1% hp and he would STILL be chasing you around trying to kill you if hte thought he could. Now, does someone who plays like that die a lot more than a more conservative player? Obviously yeah. Did he kill loads o' people with that philosophy? Sure. I'm not suggesting anyone play that way (I don't) but there's a lesson there.

I remember I once had that conversation with him. He said his goal with every character he played was to have a 400-40 PK record, and that mine (and yours too, he mentioned) was to have something like 70-0. I'm still not sure which requires more skill, but I know which requires more cojones, certainly (the first, of course). The assessment was pretty much true in my case at least, and I suspect in yours too.

It's still a personal goal of mine to live a full, active life, complete with risk-taking, and never die once. Closest I've come is Aurien, who died once. Others don't count since they didn't break 200 hours or so... if I hadn't made one dumbass mistake around Rezkirat pre-hero, I probably wouldn't have deleted Peroleth to see how far I could've gotten undefeated.

Anyway, the moral of this for the non-elite: "elitism" encompasses more than one approach to PKing.

Another Karate-Kid lesson:

Drenching Johnny in the bathroom, punching Chosen (sp?) in the stomach, etc.

No guts, no glory, basically. I go into situations I'm not 100% certain I can handle frequently, just to see if I can. Sometimes I surprise myself. Sometimes I die and curse myself. :P
