Naturally, I have something to add to that.

One advantage that I feel Immortals used to have over your run-of-the-mill mortals is the chance to, out-of-character, on occasion talk about or explain their character.

Allow me to illustrate with a particularly ridiculous and hypothetical example:

Cador (imm) and Joshu (non-imm) both create gnome dagger warriors. Now, I know that Cador's guy has this huge backstory about how his warrior was abused as a child by a pack of rabid mongoose. I see them each kill a mongoose. In one of those cases I maybe think 'nice kill' and the other I think 'wow, he finally got vengeance for all those years of cruel torture.' Even if I don't realize it, one of those two things probably seems a lot more cool to me.

Now, with the implementation of the role command, everyone gets the chance to tell the story of their character and just why it is they hate the mongoose.
