So in his universe...basing off of what he said 1.4 is...

our 1.0 inch would be his .14

so our 5.0 would be .14*5=.7

clearly not the .8 he is claiming.

Working the other way, from his .8 = 5 inches.

our 1 inch would be equal to his .16

Of course, that would make .16*10= 1.6

Clearly not the 1.4 he is claiming as double.

Unless he is is an absolute moron, I think it might be a typo on his part...yes?
