from what I can gather..save vs spell, helps you with your saving throws (lots of this comes from things like AD&D, throws are the toss of the dice). For an example..lets say Mr. Human necro comes after you and tries to cast sleep. So he types in 'c sleep sucker' and since you are this sucker who is trying to be slept, its time for you to make your saving throw. Now lets say with all the level and spell craft modifires all put into the equation, you have to roll a say...120 or higher to resist the sleep (number just picked randomly..I have no idea how it really works). Now, if you have -50 svs, now you only have to roll a 70 or higher to resist it.

On to magic AC. I would guess this has to do with how much dam you take from a spell, or how much of a chance you have to not get hit from it or some such..but I havn't seen slash pierce etc. really make difference with this, so..I'm not certain.

Anyway..by no means take any of this as gold..just some possibilities I came up with.

P.S. As for which is better...I like svs..but hey..thats me..and I don't know the diff between the two really anyway!
