When I played a rager, shamans was the ones I feared by far the most. They have sooo many ways of fucking you over, and you can't spellbane their supplications. Of course, I was playing a cloud giant, which made me more vulnerable than the average rager to shamans.
For most ragers a single rot is enough to finish them off, since constitution usually is low for ragers. Of course you probably won't get to loot the corpse, but if you only want to kill them, who cares? Plague is a real ragerkiller as well if used right and maybe together with energy drain and/or poison. And wither is always nice to make them drop their weapons (and age-die if you do it enough times :P).
Duergar shamans are even worse, since they can see the thieves and assassins lurking, so the ragers have no chance of surprising them (except they can't see assassins hidden in the woods).
Another good class for killing ragers is conjurers... I'll let you figure out why.
