i'm not arguing/dissenting/flaming The army of warriors who were invulnerable to magic were the progenitors of "battle". A few fled into the hills alive, led by BoltThrower, now a GOD. Anyway, this is -definately- angels on the head of a pin style of argument and your view is definately a valid IC one to hold. Graham
i'm stating my different view
They were turned on by their masters - the progenitors of "masters".
Thats where the story ends, so it's pure hypothesis how the present ragers came to form, warriors cannot cast spells..
The head of the magician is their icon, i am of the opinion that they recieve the power from the actual item but that the item facilitates the connection to this -power-.
Ie. scarabites have an Ikon in their shrine/cabal, does the power come from the Ikon or from Scarabaeus Sacer himself?
So basically it is BoltThrower himself who game the follow up ragers the power to deflect spells etc, not some continuing magic from before (after all just because they had the spell cast on them how in Thera can a bunch of warriors replicate it?)
I'm just countering the OOC smugness surrounding these statements and the total belief of how "they" are right, and every rager is wrong.
p.s.
the point of battle in the dawn of time was to fight the shadows, the point of them currently is to hate mages, so it's quite alright for them to hate magics because of the "mages killed my family" rather than the distant and ultimately more disassociated hatred of the betrayal of the original army.
