My conjurer was neutral, so I'm just speculating about this, but won't angels regularly murder your cabalmates?
I know I couldn't spent 2 minutes walking through town with my angel/demon without them jumping on somebody against my will.

There might not be anything specifically wrong with binding lightwalking mobs to the Empire, but I expect they will cause alot more problems than they are worth if you ever bring them anywhere near the cabal or your cabalmates.
