The immediate response is that you're in too deep, and you should consider pulling back. That's the immediate response because most of us have totally flaked out (sorry, I'm from So. Cal) on real life responsibilities or relationships because of CF at some point, and recognize the symptoms of that when a person says something like: "I cried in real life over something that happened IC." But that's just the immediate response (probably driven by bad, bad experiences - Graham, I remember, almost dropped out of school, and his comment is coming from there. Personally, I'd sit around for hours writing awful poetry with my first char - I'd just broken up with a girlfriend, and would work&play - so I'm coming from there. You get the point). But, beyond the immediate response, no. There's nothing at all wrong with crying over something that happens in the game. Think of it like a movie, or a good book. As long as you keep it in perspective and don't abuse it, like you would alcohol or speed, it won't become more than a hobby for you, and you won't find yourself sacraficing responsibilities and relationships to pursue it, more than avid train collectors do (have you seen intense hobbyists? Damn, they're weird). I guess I see CF as something I do when I'd otherwise be watching TV (although there are those stay up til 3am sessions that I fucking hate myself in the morning for). I wonder if any of the above helped you, at all.
