> Well, no. I think they've just found a particular role that they like. Personally, I'd probably call myself a "die hard Maran." I've played almost every cabal (never Rager or Scarab) and held leaderships in those cabals, but there is something that I like, alot, about playing a Maran. Maybe it's a sense of pride? Maybe it's that Shokai is a great Imm to work for? Maybe it's that I feel as though I'm contributing something positive to the game mythos? Maybe it's the license to PK as much as I feel like? I dunno, but it's definately not that I'm insecure to tackle another class/cabal.* (footnote) And I'm sure it's the same for the die hard core groups of other cabals.

> As a side note: Great PKers do turn the game around them like ta'veren. Arolin and Zharradam, for all the flack they get, were skilled PKers, and had a fairly big impact on the game at that time. Or, Quinthen, for example - perhaps he really did legitimately turn the Empire into a powerhouse that ruled CF.. but who noticed it? Who remembers it being powerful under the Great Quinthen? Not many, simply because they were never a threat, PK-wise, not like the Empire under Kah/Istendil/Savryn. You can resent it, or mock it, but it's true - by and large, PKers have an immense impact on the game. My suggestion is to learn how to PK and get them back.

> * (footnote) - my real reason, of course, was to continue pressure to make the Maran a cabal in reality ;)
