You're quite wrong about Zorszaul.:

I had many conversations with Zorszaul as Ingvar, and I'd say he was one of the three best roleplayers I encountered. He approached me several times as a dopple of someone else, and he had quite a knack for adopting a convincing voice (lowbie Maran paladin, overeager Scarab applicant, etc.)... I usually didn't know it was him until he revealed himself.

I also spoke with him as Zorszaul on several occasions, face to face or via tell. He was scary, but he definitely wasn't only interested in running up a PK tally. He certainly could have had me dead on several occasions (raiding the Palace together, taunting Shinkoujinei and I while we were deep in the Kuo-Toa lair, etc.), but his philosophy wasn't antagonistic towards the Cult. I didn't trust him any further than I could throw him, but I also sensed that he knew he had better things to be doing than fighting me. We had a lot of common enemies (Dawn, Empire, Arbies, Maran, etc.), and we got along fine in that context, even hunting together on occasion. (Well... more "watch and learn", but I was there, trying not to suck.)

I'd go so far as to say that he would stand out on CF even if he was a mediocre PKer. He's a lot deeper than just a wacky lich mumbling about Tomes.

It's parallel to Istendil: Sure, he killed a lot of people. But he also fills a big chunk of the archive pages in the sidebar over there, and there's not so much fighting in those, is there?

> I'm not aware of him turning the game around with anything remotely RP, the only impact is PK...
> (since yelling about -"tomes"- is nothing short of retarded in my minds eye)

> People remember RP'ers who have pk'ed the shit out of them, they feel they can actually respect their pk abilities because they weren't a complete cunt about things.

> Rp is a stunted beast in CF, purely because it dies in the onslaught of PK(as does the player)
> Good rp is set pieces in CF
> Average rp is commonplace in CF people facing off each other with one sided diatribes and fixed beliefs.
> The lack of change allowable within CF limits the effect of RP against the power of PK.
> The pen is -not- mightier than the sword within the CF.
