I've played now for about 3 years, on and off. I'd say in the first year I could not PK for shit. Largely this was due to the fact I was afraid to explore, and had shitty gear most of the time. Also, my first hero represents about 8 months of this time... and he was a Trouper. Troupers are not known for PKing. He had only one PK, done in the guild at rank 20 or so. Probably another equally stupid player, as it was a close fight. Then at about a years time I played a Sylvan ranger... he didn't suck. *shrug* I did much better in the PK department... but still had my ass handed to me a bit too. His success I think came from the higher ranked Sylvans giving him gear. I played a handful of other little-uns trying to get the game down. Learned a little here and there. I created a paladin for Knights figuring I would pick up right where I left off with my Sylvan. Being a Trouper had taught me to role play, and I had it down. Now I needed to be a killer to make it to elite. I rolled him up, got in to him, got empowered and BAM... no more Knights. I went Trouper with him, and sadly learned nothing about PKing at all. I rolled up a druid who I lost in interest in, but decided to hero anyway. This is about the two year mark? I went entropy... and was the only freakin' entropists at the time. I died a lot, but re-equipping myself taught me many valuable lessons. I also killed a lot as well... druids are very powerful. I think at this point I'd call myself a 'decent' player killer. About the same time I played two level 20ish assassins so that I could get the hang of chasing people around, and learn to relax while my char was fighting. Both were killed twice, and both died from an exploding heart. (What happens when you kill too much as a lowbie) At this point I'd say I became a better-than-average to good Pker. Another big break and we're setting about 4 months ago. I jumped right back in to the game with a shaman. I rocked. Unfortunatly I took an unscheduled recess from CF and he timed out. He was the best mix of RP and PK I ever had. *sniff* Now I'm playing an assassin, he's doing pretty well. 3-0 at the moment. (still a lowbie) I'd say after three years of playing I'm a "pretty" good PKer. Though no where near very good. I see a lot of logs of people way better than I. To sum up: 1 year: Didn't suck
I took some time off and came back at about a year and 6 months very rusty.
2 years: Not bad
3 years: Pretty good
