I've had it happen to me before, and there is nothing you can do about it. You just pick up where you left off, and just be grateful that it wasn't 1/3 con point or experience hole. In my instance, I was ranking in Arial City, it crashed, and I logged on with nothing on. Therefore, I had to quit the group to get a weapon and some belongings. I talked to an Imm about it, but it is really an unavoidable circumstance, and I understood and went on with it.

Has to do with code to try to keep people from cheating. If you log on to quickly it thinks you are trying to make duplicates of equipment and removes everything from you.(also can happen when you change character and log on really quickly after quiting your other one) Treboei 12:31:10 9/4/2000 (0)
