I am sickened by the fact that the individual responsible for the majority of the “bashing” posts of late is most likely American. This just further lends itself to the image of “rednecks” and intolerant religious fanatics that most people seem to think reside solely in the southern U.S. As a resident of south Texas, I would just like to say that I, and most likely most of my friends, would react violently to someone as prejudiced as this individual appears to be. Our only prejudice is against those who cannot see beyond skin color or sexual preference. Does this make us bigots? Perhaps so, but at least we don’t think a person’s sexual preference constitutes their entire being. If you are so sad and misguided as to be one of those individuals who hate everyone that is not like themselves, I pity you. Without diversity in life, there would be no variety, and without variety, the world would be a bleak, colorless place indeed. Fortunately, there is not just black and white in this world, but many other colors as well. If you were to open your eyes and look around without that intolerance to blind you, you might just see that the uniqueness that resides within each one of us is what makes the world an interesting place to live in. Don’t speak to me about unnatural perversions and such. Science has proven that there are those within our species who will act in a certain fashion because they are chemically, or genetically, inclined to do so. Is it then unnatural for someone who is genetically inclined to feel attraction towards members of their own sex to do so? If you think it is, I would be extremely interested in reading your dissertation on how that is possible. I could go on to the religious implications of homosexuality, or lack thereof, but even I dare not touch on something that flammable. Finally, I would like to say that I did not post this as an invitation to debate freedom of choice and I ask that the VIP’s delete this post if they believe it will cause too much of an uproar. I mainly wrote this tirade as a means to vent my emotions over one person’s utter disregard for the sanctity of free will. Whoever you are, I hope you will learn that if you wish the right to exercise your freedom, you cannot complain when others do the same. Harlequin
