The tools Proud Blade suggested to use are very useful, but there's also an easier way to detect where the problem lies. If it hangs and then a moment later three or four screenfuls of data scroll down your screen, it's most likely on your side. Many people try reconnecting to CF to solve that, but in all honesty that won't help much. Try reconnecting to your ISP, especially if you've been on the connection for awhile. Some ISPs will reduce system resources to people that have been on awhile, in a sort of forced attempt to get them to logoff and open the line up for someone else, or be at the keys whenever online. Major ISPs don't do that, but when I worked for Waterhouse Securities (a brokerage firm) I had to do some investigating for a client, and it turned out SpeedyNet in Wisconsin or something actually had a system like this implemented. If it hangs and then spits out three or four lines, maybe a round of combat or something, every few seconds... then it's on CF's side... most likely. Disclaimer: The reason I say most likely in both these examples is because there are many other variables added into it... this is just the more general answer Zepawho?
